Office Deployment Tool

  1. Remove all existing versions of Office before doing a new install
  2. Create a directory (we use c:\officeinstaller)
  3. Open officedeployment tool you were sent
  4. Save to c:\officeinstaller
  5. Open web browser to https://config.office.com/deploymentsettings and fill in what is needed
    1. Product: whats on the invoice
    2. Language: english/spanish
    3. Installation: click Office Content Delivery Network, show installation to user
    4. Click Export, Office Open XML formats
    5. Filename: configuration
    6. Click Download
  6. Copy downloaded file to c:\officeinstaller
    1. Open file explorer to Downloads
    2. Right click on configuration.xml and select copy
    3. Go to Localdisk C: folder officeinstaller
    4. Right click and select paste
  7. Open either cmd or powershell as administrator
    1. cd c:\officeinstaller
    2. setup /download configuration.xml

      Download will start, and take a long time (15-20 minutes)

    3. setup /configure configuration.xml

      This does the actual install.

  8. At this point, a gui installer will start up.
