Creating Valid Filenames

Microsoft Windows, Unix and MacOS have different limits on what characters can be used in file names, what the maximum length of a filename can be, and the maximum length of the full file name (device + path + filename). MacOS is built on Unix (with some fantastic enhancements), so we will use the term Unix to include MacOS.

Power Usage Calculations

Formula

power = voltage * (average of power per phase) * sqrt(3) * power factor

Where

	* power is in watts
	* voltage = 208 volts
	* average of power per phase taken from readings on PDU
	* sqrt(3) is approximately 1.732

Generating good passwords

Password security is very much on everyone's mind. Either you are a user, who gets irritated because of the funky passwords some web sites make you use, or you are a systems administrator, frustrated that your users want something simple, putting the systems you manage at risk of being compromised.
